Migration, migration management and their connected phenomena – let them be the advent of international terrorism, waves of economic migration, illegal border crossings and illegal, violent behaviour in Western Europe – are one of the defining problems of our century. As the most important result of migration can be seen to be many things (source of workforce, a jungle of risks, the influx of alien cultures, or the influx of interesting cultures worth living along), so can the media and politics thematize it.
Discourse can be as diverse as the origin of those attempting to create a better life for themselves, sometimes by any means necessary.
FactRefuge aims to clear up myths, lies, fake news and distortion about migration by fact-checking and reporting on legal migration, illegal migration and refugees in Europe, and in the United States.
